Volumes One - Selections from Music Concerts 2019-2023 Bon Iver 6 Piece Band
Bon Iver

Bon Iver launches a new archival series and announces their first non-studio album VOLUMES: ONE "SELECTIONS FROM MUSIC CONCERTS 2019-2023 BON IVER 6 PIECE BAND" for release on April 3, 2026.

"VOLUMES" will be a new and recurring archival series featuring recordings from live shows, demos, previously unreleased recordings, and unheard material that together represent the many eras constituting ”Bon Iver”.

"This particular set of 10 songs is like, ‘Here, if you’ve never heard Bon Iver, or you have and you didn’t like it, this might be for you.’ This is what we became. This is really us at our best. This is it," says Justin Vernon, who began working on VOLUMES: ONE in 2020 by going through many, many hours of live recordings to assemble the ultimate tracklist.

VOLUMES: ONE ”SELECTIONS FROM MUSIC CONCERTS 2019-2023 BON IVER 6 PIECE BAND” is Bon Iver's first album not recorded in a studio, yet it functions as something greater than a compilation or a live release.

Band members Andrew Fitzpatrick, Jenn Wasner, Justin Vernon, Matthew McCaughan, Michael Lewis, and Sean Carey each constitute an independent entity. Together, they deliver defining versions of these songs – for the uninitiated and the most dedicated fans alike – unfolding the tracks in their most rich and complete form through Xandy Whitesel’s essential live sound engineering.

Recorded between 2019 and 2023 – the period of Bon Iver’s most recent live performances to date – VOLUMES 1 highlights music from the 2016 album "22, A Million" and the 2019 album "i,i", supplemented by three significant works: the COVID anthem 'P.D.L.I.F.', marking a new period for Bon Iver; an interpretation of Mahalia Jackson's 'A SATISFIED MIND', drawing threads back to the early days of DeYarmond Edison where Vernon first utilized his falsetto during private band rehearsals; and finally, 'HEAVENLY FATHER', a beloved fan favorite, is brought back.
