Considered THE “Heavy Metal made in France” band of the 1980s, SORTILÈGE is one of the rare acts to have successfully breathed such an exciting new life into its repertoire while remaining firmly turned toward the future.

 

What had already become perfectly clear on stage since their reformation around their iconic singer Christian « Zouille » Augustin was confirmed in 2023 with the album « Apocalypso » — and is even more evident today through the ten tracks/anthems of this new effort, « Le Poids de l’Âme », a title that powerfully underscores the meaning of the songs it contains.

 

Recently bereaved by the passing of their guitarist Bruno Ramos, SORTILÈGE found the strength not to go down on one knee. With the addition of Michaël Zurita as the new lead guitarist — an essential complement to the rhythmic power of their other guitarist, main co-writer, and producer Olivier Spitzer — the band showed great resilience in bringing this new album to fruition.

 

With « Le Poids de l’Âme », SORTILÈGE can continue to proudly display its symbol: the Phoenix.
