Benighted seem to take in every facet of Death Metal and impale it all together to form an amazing album; it is technical and groovy, heavy with a light touch, noisy with melody, it’s like they have been listening to Death metal for decades and realised that the genre is so diverse that it would be silly to stick to one tightly defined manifesto. The vocals highlight this point perfectly encapsulating the best of growls, roars, pig squeals, screams and cleans and everything in-between.

 

This album is like a Frankenstein’s monster; it is grotesque and horrible but it really just wants to be liked for who it is rather than the pieces it comes from and it fits together perfectly.
