From São Paulo, Brazil, Angra emerged in 1991 under the guidance of guitarist Rafael Bittencourt and vocalist André Matos, rapidly securing a singular position within the heavy metal landscape. The group defied standard genre norms by fusing the intricate structures of European power metal with the vibrant pulse of Brazilian percussion, alongside rich orchestral and classical textures.

Although their initial offering, Angels Cry, already showcased this highly innovative approach, it was the 1996 release of Holy Land that served as their true artistic breakthrough. Frequently cited as the band's defining masterpiece.

Crafted with the assistance of legendary producers Sascha Paeth and Charlie Bauerfeind, the project garnered global acclaim and continues to stand as a landmark achievement for enthusiasts of progressive, symphonic, and power metal. Now, exactly thirty years after its original release, Holy Land will be re-released.
