• Bauhaus released their third album The Sky's Gone Out in October 1982. They supported the release with a short North American tour in late 1982, during which the band were demonstrably at the peak of their powers. Onstage, they fused performance art with punk ferocity, bringing their dark vision vividly to life for audiences. The performances were dense with drama, urgency, and the ever-present sense that anything could collapse - or explode - at any moment.

• Perhaps the finest show of the North American tour was the performance Bauhaus gave at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco on 15th December 1982. Steeped in emotion and deeply visceral, the set crackled with intensity from the outset, captivating the audience in an almost hypnotic fashion. Broadcast too on local radio, the entire performance from that winter's evening is now captured on this 2LP set, documenting one of the most electrifying and essential snapshots of Bauhaus at their most sublime.
