50th Anniversary Edition of Elton John's milestone album "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy." This deluxe reissue features the original album (2016 remaster), unreleased sessions demos and live performances from Elton John's 2005 Captain Fantastic tour. This 2LP set also includes a 28-page booklet containing sleeve notes and Elton's never-before-seen 1974 diary entries.

 

The 2 vinyl LPs are pressed on tri-coloured vinyl with colour-in-colour effect.

 

Released in 1975, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy is often regarded as one of Elton John's most ambitious and cohesive works. His ninth studio album and the first to be entirely autobiographical, the album chronicles the early years of John's collaboration with lyricist Bernie Taupin, portraying their journey from aspiring musicians to global superstars.

 

Upon its release, the album made history by becoming the first to be certified gold before release and to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in its first week. It remained at the top of the charts for seven weeks and has since been certified triple platinum.
