ROBERT PLANT

 More from this Band

Robert Plant's “Saving Grace”, his first album with a new, top-class band, is, as he calls it, “a songbook of the lost and found”. It was written during the lockdowns in “The Shire”, when Plant's usual wanderings were almost forbidden. In the English countryside, he came into close contact with a group of musicians - singer Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley and cellist Barney Morse-Brown - who all shared a fondness for his evocative songs. Saving Grace was produced by Plant and the band and recorded over six years in the Cotswolds and the Welsh borders. The album breathes new life into a treasure trove of songs by Memphis Minnie, Bob Mosley (Moby Grape), Blind Willie Johnson, The Low Anthem, Martha Scanlan, Sarah Siskind and Low.
