Kadavar - Kids Abandoning Destiny Among Vanity And Rui

Just a few months after the spectacular reissue of “I Just Wanna Be A Sound,” Kadavar, the royalty of Berlin rock, is back with “K.A.D.A.V.A.R.,” a sort of second debut album. The band combines the riff-hungry energy of their early days with the creativity of their new four-piece lineup. And they can happily announce: the joy of music is back for good.

The spectrum ranges from the cheeky slacker rock of “Stick It” to the buzzing behemoth of “K.A.D.A.V.A.R.” and the thrash metal (!) club track “Total Annihilation.” Kadavar has probably never been so diverse and at the same time so archetypal. But that's how it is when every member of the band contributes their songs and ideas on an equal footing. In the end, whether you call it hard rock, retro rock, classic rock, vintage rock, doom rock, or just fucking rock music, it doesn't matter: it rocks. And how! “K.A.D.A.V.A.R.” feels both familiar and new, paying homage to the past without getting bogged down in it. Above all, it's an album overflowing with the joy of playing.
