CLASSIC ‘BROTHERS IN ARMS’ BROADCAST
Released in May 1985, Brothers in Arms entered the UK Albums Chart at number 1 and spent a total of 228 weeks in the charts, selling over 4.3 million copies. It went on to become the best-selling album of 1985 in the UK. The 1985–1986 Brothers in Arms world tour which followed the album's release was phenomenally successful, with over 2.5 million tickets sold. The tour included dates in Europe, Israel, North America, Australia and New Zealand; in all the band played 248 shows in over 100 different cities. Among the very finest shows the band played during this mammoth jaunt, took place at the San Antonio Municipal Stadium in Texas on 16th August ’85, where the band performed a quite staggering 2-hour set, resplendently featuring a healthy selection from the new record, and peppered it too with classic cuts from previous albums. Previously unreleased on vinyl, this remarkable broadcast recording is now available on this new two-instalment set.
