At the final performance of a three-day engagement at the 18,000 seat Inglewood Forum in California - an engagement that marked the last shows of the then current, second leg of Led Zeppelin’s 1975 U.S. tour - the band proved that, so long as there is Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham, all is safe for rock and roll. As Plant announced early in the set, the band wished to make their final appearance very special for their audiences and in a three-plus-hour set, that featured the best works from their collective six-year existence, they did just that.
The 1975 tour was the tenth concert tour of North America by the group. Divided into two legs, with performances commencing on 18 January and concluding on 27 March 1975, it was preceded by two European warm-up shows, performed in Rotterdam and Brussels respectively.
On 27th March ’75, a superb show was performed at the Forum, true to the stunning character of Zeppelin’s then recent LP Physical Graffiti, as were the five shows they played at London’s Earl’s Court Arena in May 1975. A further North American tour consisting of 33 dates was planned for August–September ‘75, but due to a serious car accident involving Robert Plant, it was cancelled.
