With Symphony In Flesh, Belgian death metal force Carnation sharpen their sound into its most focused and punishing form yet. Where the previous album explored more experimental territory, this new full length is a deliberate return to the band’s core identity: aggressive, atmospheric and uncompromising death metal with strong hooks and a refined sense of songwriting. The record combines the raw energy of the band’s earliest work with the power and clarity they developed across their later releases, resulting in an album that feels both honest and elevated.

Lyrically, Symphony In Flesh moves through vivid and unsettling themes, from obsession with the human body and serial killer imagery to addiction, inner struggle, identity and the weight of inherited expectations. Musically, the album balances relentless speed and violence with memorable grooves, atmospheric leads and dynamic arrangements. Tracks like “Flesh-Eating Frenzy” deliver old school ferocity in its purest form, while songs such as “Kingdom of Dreams” and “Labyrinth of Silence” reveal a darker, more immersive side of the band. Closing track “Legacy of the Forefathers” pushes Carnation further than ever before, ending the album with their most ambitious composition to date. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Yarne Heylen at Project Zero Studio, and visually brought to life through artwork by Peter Sallai, Symphony In Flesh stands as Carnation’s heaviest, strongest and most complete album so far.
