Social Distortion has achieved something that not many has even thought of, balance between country anguish of Johnny Cash and the punky punch of the Sex Pistols. This is not raw punk like Social Distortion used to be, this is rock 'n' roll...
Tempos can be fast and tempos can be slow, but the album still is a neat package. Songs like "Cold Feelings" and "Born to Lose" are fast and furious, but then on the other side we have tracks like "This Time Darlin'" which are slow-tempoed, country-influenced.
Mike Ness is a unique rocker, when you hear this album you know why.
If you like bands like the Sex Pistols, Backyard Babies, the Hives or even Rolling Stones, I'm sure you dig this.
