 More from this Band

EARLY GRAVES formed in Bay Area, San Francisco in early 2008 and have since released two full lengths, both on Metal Blade Records' imprint, Iron Clad Recordings. The band's sound has been described as a mixture of old school Swedish death metal and American hardcore punk and have drawn comparisons to Napalm Death, Carcass, Tragedy and Testament among other. In the summer of 2010, on one of the band's many US tours, they were in a van accident, killing singer Makh Daniels. After about a year of contemplation, the band decided to continue on, with close friend, John Strachan, of the Funeral Pyre (who were in the same van during the accident) stepping in for Daniels. Since the rebirth, Southern Lord Records re-released the band's last album, Goner, on vinyl, in conjunction with their appearance and live re-debut at the Power of the Riff Festival in LA and then San Francisco, alongside Pelican & Pentagram. The band was also selected by Scion to participate in their Metal Matinee series where they supported the legendary Cro-Mags in Chicago and Los Angeles.
