VIOLENT FORCE

 More from this Band

Can’t get enough of mid-eighties Teutonic Thrash? Need some new old classics? Then you should definitely check out “Malevolent Assault of Tomorrow”, the debut full-length album by German thrashers Violent Force from 1987. Everybody who likes Thrash Metal served the classic way, (or to be more precise: a cross of Slayer and Sodom with a heavy nod to our beloved Motörhead) should have Violent Force on their radar. Founded in Velbert in Western Germany, Violent Force could quickly make fans all over the when they released the first couple of demos; those demos even reached remote places like Brazil and Australia (tape trading times, you know!) where you still find die-hard fans of Violent Force even to this day. Thanks to this very promising start, Violent Force were virtually showered with record deal offers and finally decided on signing with Roadrunner, back then still an underground label, but already on the way to greater fame.  To many well-informed Thrashers out there it is still a mystery why Violent Force didn’t make it big back then. Everything had looked so very promising: they showed up at the right place, at the right time, and, most important, they played the right kind of music: pure Teutonic Thrash / Speed metal, both typical and original, with a perfect, transparent sound, razorsharp riffs, dynamic drums, a vocalist who lives up to his nickname (Lemmy!), and a timeless we-don’t-give-a-fuck-attitude Aura Noir can only dream of. The album was recorded, mixed and produced by Kalle Trapp, founder of Karo Studios and one of the most important German producers at the time. Some of the drum tracks were done by Atomic Steif, known to many from his work with Sodom, Holy Moses and Living Death. Sadly, Violent Force played only a handful of gigs after having released “Malevolent Assault of Tomorrow” and disbanded shortly after. Nobody knows what might have been, but we still can delight in the greatness of their legacy (which has been mastered for vinyl by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony). So if this gem passed you by 30 years ago, here’s your second chance! 1. Dead City
2. Soulbursting
3. Vengeance and Venom
4. M.A.O.T.
5. What About Time After
6. Sign of Evil
7. Violent Force
8. The Night
9. Destructed Life
10. S.D.I.
