Diamond Head is one of the legendary names of Heavy Metal. Unfortunately all that remains of the legend is guitarist Brian Tatler, who has surrounded himself by some able, yet faceless jobbers. They do make a good band, albeit one trading on past glories. Diamond Head have now released four live albums and all of them are patchy. This is the soundtrack of a soon-to-be-released live DVD from the London Astoria in 2005. The tracklist cherrypicks almost all of their classic tracks, although they haven`t taken enough from their classic "Borrowed time" album other than an awesome set closing "In the heat of the night". Otherwise it`s all good stuff. However, for every amazing rendition, like "The Prince" or "Streets of gold", you get a pitiful one, "To the devil his due" sounds like they are making it up as they go. A wasted opportunity as this is the first time Diamond Head have utilized two guitarists on stage. The more recent "All will be revealed" material sounds exactly like it does on the album. A worthy rather than outstanding collection. Someday Diamond Head will release a classic live album but this isn`t it.
