SISTE DAGERS HELVETE (Latter Day's Hell in norwegian) was an early eighties norwegian hardcore band. While there were contemporaries around who had released cassettes, demos and seven inches, Siste Dagers Helvete was the first to release an album, The Hell from 1984. The big irony is that it was released without the band's approval, with wrong song titles, no royalties and worst of it all: The label did a radically different mix, destroying the master tape that originally had a depth and punch very unusual for a hardcore band at that time. Despite this, The Hell is regarded as one of the absolute classics of Scandinavian hardcore. Whether it is the desperate delivery of the finnish accented lead singer or the hypermelodic two-chord riffs of the guitarist, Siste Dagers Helvete is guaranteed to hit the weak spot of everyone who ever enjoyed classic hardcore like GBH, MDC, Misfits or early Black Flag. In 2005 the album finally got the remastering it deserved, with the full spectrum of the recording brought back to life. This version was released on limited vinyl only on Cradle to Grave Records and makes out the basis of Hele Helvete. In addition to The Hell album redux, it also includes compilation and 7 inch tracks as well as newly unearthed bandpictures and iconography and an essay (in norwegian of course). On top of all this, a live recording from 2009 is included that proves that the band, like their lyrics about surveilance and state control, are as on point today as they where in 1984 - "1984 is today", as the starting track's chorus goes!
