Australian Airbourne has never been a band that thinks small. But with their self-titled sixth studio album, they outdo themselves.

 

The album Airbourne distills everything the band stands for: bombastic, beer-drenched, menacing, and uncompromising rock 'n' roll. As lead singer Joel O'Keeffe says: "This album brings together everything we stand for on one record. It's the best album we could possibly make."

 

The band reunites here with producer Brian Howes, who previously worked on Black Dog Barking (2013), as well as legendary sound engineer Mike Fraser, who also worked on Breakin' Outta Hell (2016) and No Guts. No Glory. (2010). The recordings took place at Music Farm Studio outside Byron Bay, where the iconic Neve console from Alberts Studios – known from classic recordings with AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, and The Angels – is still in use.

 

The album is mixed by Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, Architects) and delivers Airbourne in top form with thundering drums, razor-sharp guitars, and the raw energy, passion, and sweat-drenched intensity that has made them one of today's most explosive hard rock bands.
