When Norwegian gothic metallers Theatre of Tragedy completed their farewell tour last year, they recorded their final shows for the upcoming concert documentary Last Curtain Call, which was completed last month. Now the band's only official DVD is ready for release, and they recently posted a seductive trailer which you can peep on the flipside, along with the cover art and more details...
Although they decided to close up shop more than a year ago, the band continued to tour in support of their seventh and final album Forever is the World. During that tour they not only documented their performances, but also kept an on-the-road video journal. The 94-minute concert portion contains eighteen songs spanning the band's 17-year career, including "Image," "Storm," "Machine," "Cassandra," "And When He Falleth" (featuring a Vincent Price soundbite from Masque of the Red Death) and "A Rose for the Dead." Supplemental materials include interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and segments from their final rehearsal on October 1st, 2010.
Last Curtain Call is packaged with a bonus CD containing a selection of ten live tracks, but a separate double-CD album containing audio from the entire DVD concert will also be available. Both versions will be released on May 20th, but in the meantime check out the trailer!
