BECK - FREE THINGS ARE COOL-LIVE AT KAOS RADIO, 1994
Late 1993 to early 1994 was a wildly productive time for the 23 year old Beck Hansen. "Loser" was getting major airplay in LA, sparking a bidding war, in the midst of which he recorded what would become 1994's classic One Foot In The Grave, with Calvin Johnson of Beat Happening / K Records. Soon after he signed to Geffen, and by March Mellow Gold was released. In January of '94 he found time to stop by Olympia, WA's legendary indie station KAOS to record this stunning set. As if he weren't busy and prolific enough at the time, this legendary set is almost entirely made up of songs that have either only been performed live, are obscure b-sides, or didn't come out for years after this recording. The mysterious and beguiling Beck had a monstrous 1994 and this live set is an important piece of the puzzle. Essential Beck available on CD or two color vinyl LP in high quality remastered sound. Track list: 1. Mattress 2. My Own Best Enemy 3. Painted Eyelids 4. Johnny Depp 5. Beck Will Die 6. Totally Confused 7. It's All In Your Mind 8. Your Love Is Weird
