While Indiana isn't exactly known for it's music scene The Ataris who started in 1995 out of Anderson, IA have done more than enough to put the state on the map. Having been a band for just over 15 years the Ataris have held their own as a seminal pop and rock band. Selling over 150k copies of "Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits" and "So Long, Astoria" reaching the status of gold they attained success that most bands dream of. Their rendition of Don Henley's "Boys Of Summer" reached #20 on the Billboard charts in 2004. "Blue Skies" is often cited as a major influence on many bands that have stepped into the pop punk genre over the years and still continues to be a favorite among many current artists.
