Agrimonia was formed in 2005 in Gothenburg, Sweden. After two years of writing, rehearsing and fine-tuning their sound they recorded a 5-song, 55 minute demo in late 2007. This was subsequently released the following year on vinyl by European label: Skuld Releases, and on CD by IJC/Detesta Records. The band did several festival shows through Europe and spring of 2009 saw the band head out on their first European tour. Their 2nd full-length, which came out in 2010. "Host of the Winged" is a 73-minute monster, released on 2xLP by Skuld Releases and on CD by Profane Existence. Following the release the band took on their first US tour, doing the whole West Coast as well as a short visit to Mexico. Agrimonia's sound could be described as the bastard child of the epic, bittersweet sounds of bands like Counterblast and Neurosis, together with the simplicity and murk of bands as Bolt Thrower and Bathory. Thundering death and black metal soaked doom, with hints of crust, as well as atmospheric and epic darkness. The guitars range from devastating heaviness to gloomy acoustic sections, with piercing leads that flash through the darkness "Rites of Separation" was recorded at Studio Fredman in Sweden by Fredrik Nordstrom (At The Gates, Opeth, Arch Enemy) in the winter of 2012/2013. For fiends of: Neurosis, Opeth, Amebix, Tragedy
