In "Kurt & Courtney", British documentary film-maker Nick Broomfield looks into the circumstances surrounding the death of NIRVANA mastermind Kurt Cobain, who died in 1994. Since then, rumours of Cobain having been murdered have persisted. According to one theory, Cobain's widow, the actress and musician Courtney Love, was behind this murder. Suspicion has fallen on El Duce, singer with shock rock band The Mentors, who also died under mysterious circumstances shortly after being interviewed for this movie.

 

While researching his film, Broomfield was faced with a wall of silence and had to overcome many obstacles. His documentary features statements by friends, family and personalities from the music industry, whose testimony supports this shocking theory. His movie is an important work about a myth and the reality behind an individual who became a role model for an entire generation.
