Savage Messiah hail from London UK In October 2007 the band released their Andy Faulkner (Bolt Thrower, Siam) produced debut Spitting Venom. The band opted to release this via their own imprint SMR productions, which was signed up for distribution by the mighty Plastic Head (Nuclear Blast, Metal Blade etc..). On release the CD won great praise from all over the world drawing comparisons with Testament, Arch Enemy, Judas Priest and Carcass among others. These comparisons vindicated the bands musical ideology of combining classic Thrash and Metal with modern and extreme sounds. Spitting Venom was voted no.14 Top Metal album of 2007 by Chris Nagal for Listmania! Over at Amazon.com coming in above Megadeth! The band were also a featured artist on Billboard.com thanks to Ed Rivadavia, who also reviewed the band for Allmusic.com. November 2007 SM hit the road for the first time, taking in 14 concerts throughout England. The shows were a tremendous success and solidified the bands reputation as one of the most exiting and explosive acts currently active in the UK. As well as magazine and webzine attention the band has attracted much airplay notching up radio plays in Japan, North America, Canada, UK, Columbia, Mexico, Germany, Australia and other countries throughout Europe. The band were even invited to the Total Rock Studios in London to take part in a live on air interview in April 08. Ultimately the record would catch the attention of Candlelight Records who signed the band in January 2009. The guys immediately entered The Ecology Room studios in Deal, England to work with the Legendary, Grammy Nominated producer Chris Tsangarides. Famous for his production on such seminal albums as Painkiller by Judas Priest, Tattooed Millionares by Bruce Dickinson as well as notching up production credits for bands such as Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Yngwie Malmsteen and more recently Biomechanical as well as many many others. Recording was finished in March before the band recruited Scott Atkins (Cradle of Filth, Gama Bomb) to mix the effort.
